"NATIONAL GEO-INFORMATION CENTRE FOR NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT" PROJECT

          “The National Geoinformation Centre for Natural Resource Management” project jointly implemented by the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism of Mongolia and Ministry of Development Cooperation of the Ducth Government started its activities in December 2006. The project will support the environmental policy and decision-making and contribute to the sustainable development of Mongolia.

          In the National Geoinformation Centre, all types of environmental and natural resources information will be centralized. By the use of modern geographical information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) techniques and technologies, decision-makers and users will be provided with the high quality and reliable data/information for environmental decision-making at different levels. 

           This project will create new trends and achievements in the environmental sector. Also it will contribute to the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, objectives of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, The Convention of Biodiversity Conservation and other national programs.
